Kirk has a typical Siberian Husky prey drive which makes him unsuitable for homes with other dogs, cats or small pets. He is best suited for bigger kids (10 and older). He is an athletic dog with plenty of energy, so needs 2 walks a day to keep him happy and healthy. He needs a large yard with a very tall, secure fence.
Supplies Offered With Pet: Lease, collar, harness, stuffed Raccoon, dog food container, any dog food I have at the time, the remainder of his heart worm preventative (currently have 5 months left), and his food bowls. I can include his crate if absolutely necessary but would rather keep it.

ALL ABOUT Kirk – Siberian Husky For Adoption in Galveston Texas
Looking for a Siberian Husky for adoption in Galveston? Kirk is a stunning example of the Siberian Husky dog breed. He is intelligent, very loving, athletic and a great companion. At just 4 years of age, Kirk is very healthy. He has been neutered and is up to date on his vaccinations.
Kirk is not the dog for everyone, and is currently living with the right owner, but in the wrong situation. He needs a loving home with a great big, securely fenced yard (or an acreage) in which to run and play. Currently, his owner is a medical student living in a small condo – not the best situation for an energetic dog like Kirk.
Kirk needs owners who have the time and space to give him the exercise and stimulation he needs and very much deserves.
Kirk needs a home where he is the only pet. Like many Huskies, he has a strong prey drive, which makes him unsuitable for a home with cats, small animals or small dogs. He would be fine with children older than 10.
Kirk’s owner loves him so much. He is heart-broken at having to find Kirk a loving new home, but realizes that he is unable to give this beautiful dog the environment and attention he needs to be safe, happy and healthy.
If you have been thinking about adopting a Siberian Husky and live within a reasonable distance of Galveston, please get in touch. We would love to introduce you to Kirk and his owner!
5 Good Reasons To Adopt This Siberian Husky in Galveston TX
I love seeing him run at full speed looking like the happiest dog ever
I love the way that he will surprise me with affection by coming up to me unusually and giving me doggy kisses
I love how silly he is when he gets excited and the way he will smile huge when he’s happy
I love how he wants to give me hugs when I get home but he knows not to jump up so I instead taught him to put one arm up and Ill lift him into a hug
I love that he is so smart and can learn new things very readily, although he is very stubborn in things he has already learned.
Kirk is a happy, friendly, vocal dog that loves to be the center of attention. He loves to run around in open fields and get lots of exercise. He loves to be with people and meet new people, he has never met a stranger though!
He will talk to you when he gets very excited in the way only huskies can, and he will never be happier than when you come home.
Once he gets his daily exercise in, he makes an excellent couch buddy, he will come curl up next to you and sit and stare lovingly at you. Watch your feet though because he is not a fan of being nudged when he cant see whats nudging him.
He will let you know if he isn’t pleased with a little bark, that sounds scary at first, but is really just him being vocal and letting you know what he doesn’t like.
Kirk will sometimes jump up on the bed with me and curl up against my back or lay down on the pillow next to me and give me kisses. He is a very loving and sweet dog who loves to be loved.
Kirk is not a huge fan of toys, only playing with them intermittently and typically gently. He has a stuffed raccoon that he will carry around sometimes, and will play fetch with it in the hallway. He loves to go running with me, and to run around in the dog park chasing me as I run in circles. He is very treat motivated and loves all food except vegetables.
Current Home Environment
I live in a condo with no backyard, but across the street is a large baseball field and a dog park that he gets to run in and potty in (I pick up after him of course). When I am not at home, he stays in his crate on a soft dog bed. He gets all the water he needs in the day, and eats once at night- very slowly for some reason and will only eat if you sit there nearby him.
Reasons For Placing Kirk For Adoption
I am in medical school right now, and have limited time and money to spend on training him . I think that he will do much better in a stable home where he does not have to travel as much or have a changing environment as often as happens with me.
I want him to be happy and in a place where he will be well loved, and not stressed. I think that it will be better if he is in a stable more suitable home.
Ideal New Home Situation For Kirk
I would like Kirk to live in a home where he is the only animal in the house with no small kids (10 and older would be ideal), somewhere that he could get the attention he deserves and an environment that does not change as often. Also having a large yard for him to run around in would be ideal, but it would be necessary for him to go to a home where people know how to care for an energetic breed like huskies.
